Microsoft PowerPoint v2002

A Review   by   Jack Casson

[As used for] Photo Slide Shows and Archives:

My typical slide show size is 200 - 300 slides from .tif and some .jpg files with narratives, intermingled with .mpg movie clips.  These are distributed to family & friends and used as archives of the files.

What I DON’T like:

NO AUTOMATIC FULL SCREEN.  You still have to manually size every still image.  Unnecessarily tedious for slide show only users.

It will not Auto Run on any Windows computer, like the “MGI” .exe Slide Show.  The show player has to be installed on the hard drive of the off-site computer.  Not good for distribution to friends and family with limited computer skills.

On a CD, it does not retain the original .tif images as a quality archive with a thumbnail array for file selection.  You can print from the CD (work copy quality.)

What I DO Like:

The .mpg movie clips can be manually sized up to full screen, which is a unique competitive advantage.  I can’t find a slide show program that will show .mpg clips full screen with stills.  This would be a significant advantage, in my mind.
